This organization is led by a wonan (Beate Kanamine) who has a string of shoplifing charges ahead of her (as she lives in her sprawling 4,00 sq ft Crownsville, MD home. There are better ways to get the aid to the people and not to the pockets of thiefs lke Beate.

I worked as a nanny for Beate Kanamine, I left because she is a psycho. When she was caught shoplifting she gave them my name! This lady takes advantage of people and it breaks my heart to know that she also took advantage of the great people of Annapolis and the victims of hurricane Katrina. She claims to "volunteer" at hospitals in the area but and when I worked for her she had cupboards full of medical supplies and perscriptions. Someone should tell her that volunteering doesnt mean stealing. She takes from the needy, this lady stops at nothing! Beware!

This is ridiculous, she cheats and steals, and we, nice or naive, keep giving. Stay away from her and her marvelous projects. This woman must not be around money, checks, or credit cards, SSNs or any goods or information at all.

I have had many experiences with this woman. I believe that she is fundamantally evil. She is incapable of telling the truth. Everything that comes out of her mouth is to be questioned. She has no morals whatsoever.

I know this woman and consider her a good friend. If you will notice the derogatory statements are not signed. Beata is a very caring person and all of the "charges" against her are not true. I would not doubt that her Exhusband who has put the above posts to scare Beata. Especially since he has threaten her life on several occaisions. To the charges listed in the Gazette all of them have been dropped against her and it was proven that she was a victum of Identy Theft caused by her exhusband who has his girlfriends using her social security number and credit cards. As far as the Gazette is concerned, this newspaper really needs to hire reporters that have a "real" degree in journalizm and not someone who received their degre online. If these two reporters had REALLY done their homework they would have found out that the charges had been and were in the process of being dropped by the courts.

She is really very pathological. Most probably the comment from "Sandra" is from Beate. You can note that the grammar is incorrect - she speaks German, English is her second language. Her ex-husband is another one of her victims. She threatened to destroy his military career, and succeeded. She is a truly awful person, and unfortunately the courts have not caught onto her. She is brilliant in court, perjuring herself, but making up lies that are so believable that she has not gotten any jail time yet. We can always hope that the courts will figure out what a grifter and con-artist she really is, and finally put her away. That would be real justice.

Very ironic that Beate declines to comment to the journalists and then decides to confide such information to "Sandra." Very strange for "Sandra" to blurt out everything on a public forum. "Sandra" is probably Beate. What an idiot.

Beate wasn't the only person collecting and organizing items for Annapolis Cares. She wasn't the only "volunteer" in that parking lot. I donated a lot of items and now I'm sick to my stomach because I doubt if my donations went to the hurricane victims. Where did all of this stuff go? Who drove it where? Beate did not collect all of this stuff by herself. Did anyone deliver it to the Louisianna or did it all get dropped off at Beate's house? If she had such a bad reputation, how could the police allow her to set up a charity?! I don't get this at all!!!!

Beate is a very kind and caring person.

I was her nannny as well, and I must say that she indeed has some problems. I had trouble with her, and had to leave. I only feel sorry for her son, who was, even then affected very much with her problems, and already had very problematic behaviour. Since I am a foreigner, she told me, after I left, that FBI agents were looking for me, as well as INS. Even though I had all my visas and everything. I went through hell with her. It wasn't until months after that I found out what a psycho she actually was!!!DO NOT BELIEVE HER!!!

This woman is very ill. Her garage is stuffed to the ceiling, as is her storage pods, house and yard. Her 2 large dogs are kept inside and hardly ever allowed outside. There is a cage in the corner of the garage -no windows or venitilation- where she keeps them. She is in need of serious psychiatric help.

BEWARE, she is actively using one of her many aliases- currently it is MARIA PROELLER.

She is also working as a real estate "agent". Make sure you check out her crimes in Maryland on the Maryland Judiciary Case Search. Very,very sad. She is likely beyond help. Please beware. If she had just used her energy for good rather than evil, the world would be a better place!

I, along with many other wonderful, caring people, volunteered at Sam's Club with Beate for a whole week while Annapolis Cares was collecting items and money for the Hurricane Katrina victims. I listened day after day to all her wild stories and thought, "What a Life!" I was amazed at all she had been through. I collected hundreds of cash donations(which she placed directly into her pocket) and was so pleased to see such a great response from our community. Truck after truck we loaded. Individuals and schools dropping off van loads of brand new items for the victims. I now truly believe that WE too were victims. It makes me absolutly sick to my stomach to think what really happened to all that money, and all those items. I have since seen her at two different stores. Both times she has been at the service desk making up stories and trying to return things I'm sure she never purchased. Please don't believe a word this woman says. I hope someday soon she will be caught, and taken off the streets. This is one flight attendent (is she really?) who deserves a First Class ticket to HELL!!!

It is truly amazing to hear now all these things, because when I met her, she did not seem weird in any way. But as someone has put it, all of those wild stories made me wonder. And in every single story there was someone out to get her. She told me about her first husband who allegedly beat her, and about her nanny who stole her credit card and spent thousands on Victoria Secret, and who also used to stand by her bed at night and watch her sleep...She is truly sick. And at the time I was a Christopher's nanny she was kicked out of the medical school, so what I never understood was-where did she get all that money from?
